ABOUT THIS SITE

The Analects of Daisaku Ikeda (this website) is an attempt to uncover and disseminate the priceless gems hidden in the dialogues, speeches, books, essays, messages and other works of 3rd Soka Gakkai President Daisaku Ikeda (Ikeda Sensei). Inspired by Sensei's vision for humanity for the 300 years running from the Twenty First to the Twenty Third centuries, this website is a disciple's small contribution to fostering inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue and the fostering of Global Citizens. As Sensei said "Religious strife must be avoided at all costs". Dialogue among people with different backgrounds and worldviews is thus crucial to ensuring lasting global peace.

My hope is that the digests, blogs and other works that I author and feature on this site enhance awareness of Sensei's vision and efforts for Peace and Human Progress. I hope they inspire the audience of this site to seek Sensei's works directly in their entirety for a thorough reading of everything he has left for all of humanity for posterity. For what I post here are really just meant to be appetizers!

I would also love to use this site as a place to learn from others who have read the same works that have been curated here. So feel free to leave comments or engage in further discussion on social media.

There are two kinds of content you will find on this site

  • Book Digests: These are abridged versions of Sensei's books with annotations or interpretive commentary occasionally. These should take about one-tenth the time that the original work would take you to read through. Thus they can be the starting point for your next inspired book purchase for yourself or for gifting, provide aha moments that make your day, or be the launch point to new journeys of discoveries from the scores of references (academic or otherwise) that the author/dialog participants may have discussed.

  • Blogs: These are usually single topic thought streams intended to make for a quick read and to help direct you to relevant works of Sensei that you never knew your life needed to hear.

  • Truisms: Brief comments that make you say Eureka!

Happy Reading!

PS: In case you are wondering who the person(s) behind this website may be, it's intentionally skipped because the desire here is to draw attention to the ideas and practices of Ikeda Sensei (and not the author(s) of this humble endeavor).
